Overview
In Kirk A. Johnson's debut novel, "The Obanaax: Other Tales of Heroes and Horrors," the reader will delight in the thrilling adventures of barbarian nomads, mercenaries, and vagrant warriors battling against ancient dangers from beyond the threshold of space and time. These gritty and fantastic tales not only tell of heroes and horrors, sorcery, and souls but stories of courage fueled by the majestic mayhem of otherworldly encounters that can only exist far from the lands we know.
Description
"The Obanaax" is a collection of two novelettes and two short stories that take the reader on a journey to the world of Aaduna on the great northern continent of Mbor. This novel's imaginative sword and sorcery world, influenced by several West African languages, sets this book apart from other stories explored in this genre. These narrative elements, naming conventions, and heart-pounding prose makes "The Obanaax" an adventure that will ignite a passion for exploring this undreamed-of new world far beyond the last page has turned. These tales from far afield will introduce to you the adventurous derring-do of those unaccustomed to the monstrous chaos of the unnatural and, at times, its alien desires. An epic for those willing to brave far and away from the world we know.
About the author
Kirk A. Johnson was born in Trinidad on July 8th, 1971. He credits his love for fantasy, notably Sword & Sorcery and Heroic Fantasy, from watching old movies with his dad, Albert E. Johnson, at a very young age. The first novel he read was "The Hobbit" at the age of 8, and he became an avid fan of "Conan the Barbarian Marvel" comic series. In 2005, he began writing his own fantasy-adventure short stories based on his years of enjoying and learning the genre. In 2014, he sold his first short story to MVmedia LLC for its first anthology," Griots: A Sword and Soul Anthology." This is his first self-published book, a collection of novelettes and short stories. He is still writing short stories and is now working on his first adventure novel described as a "Sword and Soul" adventure.
