About The Author

Mitch Jayne, (July 5, 1928-August 2, 2010), lived a wonderfully varied life that most can only dream of. He was a tail gunner in a WWII bomber, teacher at a one-room school, a hunting guide, radio personality, bass player and songwriter for the acclaimed bluegrass group The Dillards, a TV performer as a Darling Boy on the Andy Griffith Show, a newspaper and magazine columnist, and an award winning author of four previous books. "The Morning Glory War" was the novel Mitch was working on at the end. From his notes and conversations we can now enjoy another look at Mitch's beloved Ozarks and the resourceful people (like Mitch) who inhabit this lovely part of the world.
