Marshall D. Gunn, Jr., is President of Gunn & Company, P.A., CPAs and Gunn & Company Investment Management, Inc. Mr. Gunn provides consulting, financial and tax planning services to individuals, businesses, retirement plans, foundations and trusts. These services include retirement and investment planning, and estate and gift tax planning.
CPA Magazine listed him as one of the 100 most influential CPAs in America and one of the seven most influential CPA/Financial Planners in America. Mr. Gunn is the author of the books The Money of Love and Take Charge of Your Financial Life! He has received numerous awards as an author or speaker on various financial topics.
On the international level, Mr. Gunn is a frequent guest speaker for various CPA societies and professional associations. Mr. Gunn has been a speaker at the AICPA Personal Financial Planning National Technical Conference and AICPA Investment Planning Conference. He has served as an instructor for the AICPA’s Personal Financial Planning Certificate of Educational Achievement program. He has spoken in numerous other forums and has been quoted on television, radio and in The Wall Street Journal, Fortune Magazine, The Practical Accountant, The Jacksonville Business Journal, The Florida Times-Union and other print media. He is a frequent guest of the television show First Coast Living where he provides expert tax and financial advice.
Mr. Gunn is frequently called upon as an expert witness. His areas of testimony include business valuation, investment suitability, investment value and various business issues.
Mr. Gunn is a former chairman of the Florida Board of Accountancy. He serves as chairman of the Investment Policy Committee, is a vice-president of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a past-chairman of the Personal Financial Planning Committee. He also serves on numerous not-for-profit or charitable foundation boards, including FreshMinistries, Inc. and Give Kids the World Village.
A graduate of Jacksonville University, Mr. Gunn holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He has served his alma mater as an adjunct faculty member in accounting, taxation and finance, is a past president of the alumni association and is a past member of the Jacksonville University Board of Trustees.
He earned the Personal Financial Specialist designation granted by the AICPA and the Certified Financial Planner designation from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.
Mr. Gunn and his wife Kathy reside in Jacksonville Florida.
