Overview
All of us have heard of the horrible side effects of being treated for cancer. We have seen the ravages of the disease and what it does to individuals, both physically and emotionally. No matter what you read about the disease, there is always a section explaining possible side effects of each type of treatment. In most cases there are also recommendations for how to diminish those side effects. Sometimes they work; sometimes they don't work.
What we do not read about or hear about very often are the magic, the blessings, and the humor associated with being treated for cancer. Yes, every cancer patient and their entourage of family, friends, co-workers, physicians, and medical personnel experience each of those things too. These things are talked about in this book. It is a different approach to addressing what you are going through. Hopefully it will be encouraging and uplifting, and maybe even bring a smile to your face.

Being diagnosed and then treated for cancer, no matter what stage it is in, is quite a shock. The patient experiences feelings and emotions that they have never felt before – some good, some not so good, and some that are just plain awful. Friends, family, co-workers, and caretakers also experience those same things. I would imagine that physicians and other medical personnel do too. It can be quite scary. I know. I have been treated for cancer. I have also fallen into the category of being a friend, a family member, a co-worker, and a caretaker of someone who is being treated for cancer.
