The saga continues as twins Kayla and Layla deal with the unexpected suicide of their mother, Alice. Her many years of lies and deception have torn apart their once-devoted family, and she has left behind the twins to deal with her trail of destruction. It is a long and difficult year for the girls. Their efforts to unburden their family and mend the outfall of distrust prove futile, and they soon find themselves struggling with their devotion towards one another. As the special twin bond between the sisters is ripped apart, Layla feels compelled to do something desperate to stop that from happening.
About the author
Diane Harper was born and raised in the small historic town of Lockport, New York. She lived and worked in the area until she began her career as a flight attendant for a major airline. Diane uses Lockport as the setting for her mystery novels and incorporates the town’s remarkable history in the stories. Diane’s seventeen-year career as a flight attendant is what prompted her personality to flourish. Her continuous flight attendant training kept her proficient on all types of emergencies. She was qualified in safety, security, and survival basics on land and water. Diane and her husband, Ron, were residing in Jacksonville, Florida, when she retired in 2000 to stay at home with her two young children. She became a devoted PTA volunteer at her children’s elementary school. She chaired several board positions such as Homeroom Mom, Historian and Book Fair Coordinator, and was honored with a lifetime PTA membership for her years of service and commitment. In November of 2011, Diane established her own independent publishing company called HayMarBooks, LLC. She has five books published through her company: Love, Greed and Lie$; The Lost Twin; Jace’s Adventure in the Forbidden Forest; and Jace’s Adventure at Crystal Lagoon. Her fifth publication is the very popular It All Starts With You, written by K.W. Wilson and illustrated by Josh Flanagan. Diane’s first novel, Love, Greed and Lie$, published in 2012, won honorable mention in the 2013 New England Book Festival Awards. She recently published the sequel, The Lost Twin, due out soon. Diane also writes and illustrates children’s chapter books as the Jace Adventure Series. Her recent titles, Jace’s Adventure in the Forbidden Forest and Jace’s Adventure at Crystal Lagoon won the Gold and Silver medals, respectively, in the Children’s Fiction category at the 2014 Florida Authors and Publishers Association (FAPA) President’s Awards. As an award-winning children’s book author, illustrator and publisher, Diane donates her time at elementary schools, presenting seminars that focus on writing. She explains how a book goes from an idea to a printed book. This includes showing a finished book manuscript, original illustrations and book edits. Diane recently started her third book in her Jace Adventure Series.
