Overview
This book is hard to describe. I can describe it as indescribable, as little morsels of wisdom which came to me from time to time, which I thought were interesting enough to record and save. There were never any plans to publish them, but they seem to have a life of their own, and recently clamored to gather themselves into a book. I followed this inner prompting, and with my wife's help, organized them into their current form. This editing was harder than writing the book and it wasn't as much fun. However, reading from this compilation turned out to be profoundly inspiring. I was frequently brought to tears, which is a little embarrassing to admit. The words I had written connected me to some higher truth and even transcended my state of ordinary consciousness. An unexpected gift was hearing similar responses from family and friends, who were able to access deeper levels of their own selves. As I move closer to the end of my life, it becomes increasingly important for me to inspire others to connect to their own truths. This book is one way to do that. If this all sounds too personal for a book introduction, then so be it. It sears my heart, and I hope it touches yours.

About the author
Ken Dvoren is a retiring psychotherapist from Los Angeles, California. At an early age, he began to contemplate his place in the universe and to consider his own evolution. He realized it was possible to improve not only his circumstances and relationships but more importantly, the way he experienced them. As he recognized the potential of his own growth, he became inspired to assist others in maximizing theirs. His personal and professional goals thus coincided, and the qualities he aspired to manifest in his relationships—openness, trust, empathy, acceptance, and authenticity—were the same ones he sought to establish with clients in his therapy practice. In 2023, he and his wife, Joyce, a Kaiut Yoga instructor, moved to Asheville, North Carolina, where they work part time and enjoy a simpler life surrounded by lush forests and mountains.
