Overview
The inspiration for this picture book comes from my favorite poet, John Keats, and his poem Ode on a Grecian Urn. I used the method of Ekphrasis—depicting the poem's imagery through music and visual art.

In English, "urn" refers to a vase (as seen in the illustration). In Keats's poem, it symbolizes an eternal beauty. Sometimes, beauty is silent, a layering of images, a memory left behind after witnessing it. It also carries the regret of unattainable love, confusion about life, nostalgia for youth, and the resonance across classical arts such as painting and music.
Therefore, I chose four pieces performed by Ally: the first movement of Pathétique, Ballade, Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon, and Czerny, to express the essence of the urn through music. I also incorporated literature and stories, such as The Butterfly Lovers, Romeo and Juliet, Zhuangzi Dreaming of a Butterfly, and some poems of my own.
The Listening Girl in the book is actually Ally, and on each page, you can scan the code to listen to her piano performance.
