Overview
Using the imagery of a flame inside us all, The Light Within reminds us to honor our inner light to cultivate happiness. Practicing mindfulness and protecting one’s flame grants us a sense of immunity from trouble that inevitably arises outside ourselves. We are further encouraged to see others with love and compassion, spreading light to those in need. The Light Within closes with a reminder to look to your flame when you’re feeling blue. Whatever you look for is what you will see, and the brighter you are, the brighter you will be.

About the author
Stephanie Henry is a grade one teacher who shapes young minds as a reflection of how she sees the world. With careful thought and heartfelt feeling, she mentors children towards eradicating hate and prejudice, while providing them with the strength in their hearts to evolve the world in which we live. Relishing a rural Alberta upbringing, Stephanie considers herself fortunate to have witnessed life spring from hopelessness as a volunteer in Uganda and Tanzania. Her diverse journey has also allowed her to become familiar with hardship, volunteering her teaching skills in Haiti following the devastating 2010 earthquake. The flame of her heart-light is everlasting and acts as a beacon for those within her sphere. With this book, her first, she wishes to spark a new generation of illuminated souls and use this platform to extend her reach beyond the classroom. A girl who once believed she was a unicorn… still hopes to become one.
