The Life in the Daze of a Heterosexual Hairstylist

This book is intense! It entails betrayal, deceit, mystery, intimacy, sexuality, spirituality, humor, action......it's packed with plenty for everyone who dares to enter the methodical mind of Derek Crudup.

It's my job to make women look and feel better; inside and out. I take pride in my profession and it shows. My demeanor is not average, that of my profession, so my character plays a huge part in my success. I allow my clients to dig inside my brain. Why wouldn't women take advantage of this rare opportunity? But does that qualify me to give any type of life advice? I too, have a life from behind this chair; a life of confusion, misfortune and despair; thus I wait for love. Will love find me? That's the number one issue amongst most of my clientele. The question I hear so often is "where are all the good men?" or "why is my man acting this way?”. So I pray that I don't lead them astray. I cease not to transgress though my path becomes wearier by the day, until today. I refuse to walk in a daze for the remaining of my days. There's a purpose to everyone's path; this is my journey. Having a male heterosexual hairstylist isn't common.

Derek Crudup is a published author poetry and short story. Raised on the northwest side of Detroit Michigan, where he injects mentally subdued thoughts of a world created within serenity and closure in order to escape the destruction of the everyday urban jungle. As a child he was described as an introvert/passive; He would self contain the pain and thoughts of his immediate surroundings only to express them through his artistic abilities. From a child on through adult years his process of life has brought about a change in him but the core of him struggled to remain the same. As a man of strong faith, he has been charged by God to become the best man of God he can become. Derek’s goal is to create a brand for the betterment of the people through the art of spoken word and literary expression.
