The Letter

This is the portrayal of the exploits of a volunteer to the Northern Army of the United States Civil War, and his love for his young wife, left alone, while he took part in the pivotal war of Sharpsburg, also known as the Battle of Antietam, thus creating a moment in posterity as a soldier.

This is the story of a volunteer from the State of Kansas as he joins the Northern Army of the Great American Civil War, and his time as being trained as a foot soldier, as well as his strength and value as a foot soldier in the war of Sharpsburg, also called the Battle of Antietam, interspersed with his written love stories to his young wife, while away.

The author is an ardent history buff leading from the Puritans to the present day.
