Overview
First and last, it's a story. A story commencing with a casual meeting on a flight from Chicago. An encounter that fills a void in the lives of two travel weary professionals. They share their lives, their love, and their quest for fulfillment and a future. Like our own story, it begins, and it ends and hopefully leaves a little to remember it by.
Description
After a chance meeting two people find respite from their lives at home and at work. Periodic escape from their daily existence allows them to find the sustenance and the strength to face their present and their future. Myriad issues, professional and personal confront the character's lives and to some degree reflect real life.
About the author
C Edwin Mack, born and raised in western Nebraska, I spent 30 years as a solo OB/GYN practitioner in rural Minnesota after a stint in the Navy. Never claiming to be a "writer," I've always enjoyed writing. This work is total fiction, but it is hard to escape the lives we've led. I recently resurrected and rewrote it with fond memories of the times and especially the people in my life when it was first written in1998. Whatever insight I might have gained into the personal lives of women, imperfect as it needs be, was influenced by more than thirty years of sharing their joys, their wins and loses notwithstanding 50 years of marriage to an independent woman and enlightenment by two equally independent and strong daughters.
