Description
Manila hotelier and Australian Vietnam war veteran Steve Conway returns to Vietnam to look for an old war-time friend and falls in love with a local girl. But the relationship is threatened by cross-cultural difficulties, family resistance and a dangerous ex suitor.Conway persuades his employers to allow him to look at expanding their operation in Saigon. He has found the love of his life and the relationship blossoms but behind the scenes moves are taking place to bring about its destruction. He is also unaware that he is being stalked by a crazed ex-marine intent on killing him. What started out as a short holiday becomes a turning point in Steve Conway's life leading to a roller coaster ride of love, hate, murder and ultimate tragedy.
About the author
I am an Australian author born and educated in Brisbane, Queensland. My background is in adcounting but includes ownership of a travel agency and bar/restaurant in Manila, Philippines. In recent times I have become an English teacher to non-native speakers and a novelist. I have self published two novels in a trilogy set in South-East Asia. The first one "The Last Jeep to Baclaran" is set in Manila at the time of the "People Power" revolution. It has been acclaimed from Moscow to Melbourne. The second in the trilogy "The Last Cyclo to Thanh" set in Vietnam. I am currently working on the third set in Thailand.
