About the author

RON L. JOHNSON is the mastermind behind the epic compilation of poetry that forms The Land of the Free.  With a clean writing style and meticulous attention to detail along with elegant pacing creates an enticing and entertaining journey for the reader.

Johnson was born and raised in the small East Texas town of Queen City and regularly attended Oak Grove Baptist Church while growing up in his home town.  A member of the 1975 graduating class of Queen City High School, he excelled in academics, art and athletics during his high school career.

Johnson grew up in the early ‘60’s to the mid ‘70’s when the landscape of the Nation was rapidly being shaped by assassinations, political indifference, civil rights struggles, social injustice, music, drug abuse, poverty and war.  The era of these events, some tragic and others encouraging, shaped the rhetoric and opinions of this amazing poet.

The deeply spiritual Johnson with an equally deep sense of social justice and equality resides in Texarkana, Texas with his wife Andrea and sons, Aaron and Adam.  He thanks God for the influence of Devine Inspiration which he displays throughout the messages in his poems.

Johnson’s unique style of vertical sentence structure with little to no punctuation transcends into an intense yet smooth and easy to read atmosphere.  His words capture, inspire and impassion the reader without influencing or imposing upon the reader his impassioned views.
