The author hopes it will help other children deal with feelings of loss or loneliness, especially by letting them know they aren't alone and there's another kid out there that felt the same way.

Mark Torpoco wrote this when he was 11 years old at the Carden Conejo school. He enjoys soccer, traveling, playing the drums, and hopes to be a professional writer some day. He currently attends the Viewpoint Middle School.
