Overview

A race horse jockey is murdered on teh last day of the racing season in a small Kentucky towm. The case goes cold and is soon forgotten by the towns people. Eight years later the Jockey's widow, her nephew and son-in-law are charged with the crime. She retains prominent criminal defense attorney Frank Pizzo to represent them. Frank sends his Chief Investigator Mike Walsh and his assistant to Kentucky to investigate the case and gather evidence to prove their client's innocence.

Chief Investigator Mike Walsh and his assistant, Rosa Cabio are sent to Hendersonville, Kentucky to investigate the case. They soon discover another jockeys murder, another jockey who vanished, race fixing, ties to the Chicago Mafia, political corruption, inept cops and that's just the beginning. About the author

Michael Phelps spent many years writing police incident reports, and while employed as Chief Investigator for a prominent Miami Law firm which specialized in criminal defense, he Co-Authored "DAVID JANSSEN-MY FUGITIVE" with Ellie Janssen, his friend David Janssen's first wife. "DAVID JANSSEN-MY FUGITIVE" ws originally published in hardcover by Lifetime Books, Inc. in December of 1994. Paperback Editions followed in 1995, 1996 and 1997, with combined worldwide sales in excess of 1.2 million copies. Upon retiring from the law firm, Mr. Phelps chose the challenging career of Writing. His debut novel, "THE EXECUTION of JUSTICE" is based on the murder of a close friend and one-time mentor, Detective Sergeant Jack R. Ohrberg, Robbery & Homicide Division of the Indianapolis Police Department. Although he changed the names, the incidents related are based on actual events. "THE EXECUTION of JUSTICE" introduces the "Mike Walsh Detective Novels" series. It was published in hardcover by Blue Line Publishing House, Inc. in January of 2010. "THE JOCKEY'S JUSTICE" is the second novel in the "Mike Walsh Detective Novels" series. It is based on an actual murder case Mr. Phelps worked on for the law firm. "THE JOCKEY'S JUSTICE" is being released as an Electronic Book Edition and will be available in Paperback Edition in April of 2012. Mr. Phelps is a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, Military Police Combat Defense Forces (Viet Nam). Mr. Phelps is currently working on a second book about the iconic actor, David Janssen.
