The Italian Shoes

"The Italian Shoes" is an exploration of a young woman's roots, new beginnings, and second chance at love. The main character, Maggie Carruthers, unknowingly becomes entangled in a web of greed and deceit in a foreign country. As she seeks knowledge of her ancestor's journey, the quest becomes almost fatal, and she realizes she should have heeded her mother's advice.

"The Italian Shoes" follows the adventures of a young woman, Maggie Carruthers, as she rebuilds her life and gets a second chance at love. Her family research leads her to study the journey of one of her ancestors, who traveled from 17th century Ireland across Europe to the Vatican. Her search similarly leads her across two countries, but she becomes entangled in a web of deceit from a shocking and surprising source. Her journey and its hardships will change her life and everyone she meets along the way.

Cornelia James grew up as an only child who was heavily influenced by her Catholic parents. She spent much of her life as a working mother and received degrees from Brookdale Community College and Monmouth University. She devoted her career to teaching and is a lifetime lover of learning. She resides at the Jersey Shore with her husband.
