About the author
Jack Harter's life has been defined by nature and adventure, a strong dose of creativity and a zest for hard work and excellence. Jack was born in South Dakota where he learned at an early age how to fish, hunt, and build or fix just about anything. Jack served as an infantry officer on Heartbreak Ridge in Korea. He was twice wounded and decorated for valor, for which he received a Purple Heart. From smoke jumper to movie stuntman to originator and operator of Jack Harter Helicopters on the island of Kauai, Jack has always pursued life to the fullest and given his all. Writing has now replaced piloting with works that include Stories from a Deep Well, a collection of short stories; poetry; and the novel from which the movie Quarantine was based, which depicts the world grappling with a global pandemic not unlike Covid-19. The Homunculus Device is Jack's latest work and is a novel of great timeliness.
