About the author
Mae Carol Brown was a writer and teacher from the small town of Booneville Mississippi. She was known for her story telling ability and the simple and folksy manner in which she could draw her audience in. Her life was an adventure which included travel around the United States and teaching on a number of Native American reservations. She was once even invited to participate in a sacred ritual on Bear Butte mountain by Iron Eyes Cody. She loved the southern culture and as such never met a stranger.
