Speed Reading books are, for the most part, too long, too dull and too difficult to learn from......UNTIL NOW! The Extraordinary Reader by Clive Lewis and Anthony Landale, is concise and practical and is based on over ten years personal experience of teaching thousands of people from all walks of life, how to read faster AND more effectively.
If you want an effective way to manage all the business information that you get sent every day, or a way to become a more effective and more efficient learner, then this book is essential reading. It introduces you to a completely new reading strategy - INSEAK - which will enable you to assess the relevance, and mine for the gold, in all the books, documents, reports and emails that you receive. This is not another book about speed-reading. Rather it is the distilled understanding of one of the UK's top thinkers in accelerated learning, concerning how you can: - eliminate information overload - acquire new knowledge with ease - triple your reading speed - understand more of what you read - recall more of what you have read
About the author
CLIVE LEWIS Clive Lewis is, above all else, a speed-reading practitioner. He was first introduced to speed-reading and related techniques in 1978 and used them successfully when studying for his business studies degree, in qualifying as a management accountant and in his practice as a 'Big 6' management consultant. In 1996 Clive decided to set up illumine, a training consultancy dedicated to teaching speed-reading, mind mapping and memory techniques and the company is now a leader in the field having trained several thousand people in the UK, Europe, India, North America and the Middle East. Clive is fired by the belief that anyone can learn to speed-read and consign to the past the threat of information overload. His training, and this book, bring together the related elements of technique, attitude and belief as they relate to the INSEAK reading strategy. ANTHONY LANDALE Anthony Landale is an experienced business writer and an executive coach. He is the editor of The Gower Handbook of Training & Development and the co-author of The Fast Facilitator. He has also been the editor of Management Skills & Development magazine and People Performance.
