Overview
The Apostle Paul was chosen by God after his Damascus Road experience of salvation to be God's instrument to share the Gospel with the Gentile world. Paul's letter to the Romans is perhaps the greatest explanation of the Gospel message presented in a way that all can understand. It is without a doubt one of the greatest of all of Paul's writings that speaks to man regarding his position without Christ and how he can become a child of God because of Christ's finished work on the cross.

Beyond the message of the Gospel presented to the Roman church it was Paul's intent to visit Rome, which he had never done. While in Corinth Paul pins the Epistle to the Romans while being an apostle to the Gentiles. The Roman Epistle speaks of the universal need of the Gospel for all of mankind. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. The Apostle speaks to the Jews and the Gentiles regarding the grace of God, justification by faith, and reveals that what the Law could not do, Christ did for every man by His death, burial, and resurrection. After many years of desiring to be in Rome, Paul finally arrived but in chains as he had appealed to Caesar while on trial at Jerusalem. Paul closes his letter to the Romans listing all of his many co-workers and fellow laborers in the ministry. The Apostle made it to Rome and it was there that he would die a martyr's death for his Lord.
