Music has always been in the spirit of TarsaVena. With a singing and musical family, her interest in music will be inevitable. At an early age, she started playing the piano at church. Not listening to her parents, TarsaVena got married young and had two beautiful children. Her marriage of 7 years ended because of mental and physical abuse. Not listening to her parents a second time, she got married again to her singing partner. With her husband having an outside child, the couple started facing marital issues. It was through these life experiences that she began to realize her purpose and her first inspirational project, Life is not Gone, was birthed with the help of Toney Nixon. Her singles, I’m Calling, Still Listening, Pray On, and This I Do, landed her many concerts, 6 television news interviews, 2 compilation CDs with First Choice Gospel Records (TN), appearances on Bobby Jones Presents, on Artist Fest during the 2016 Stellar Awards, and on Atlanta Live, 4 gospel awards from S & M Gospel Indie Awards in May 2015 along with 1 gospel award in May 2016, and 1 gospel award from Block Buster Showcase Music Awards. Her upcoming project, Loving God, My Family and Myself, is focusing on the next level of her life after overcoming depression, divorce, financial problems and more. She found her way into ministry through her project W.A.L.T. (Women Adoring the Lord and Themselves), which is under the guidance of The Freedom Center, founded by Pastor Quintin Cooper. Her single, You’re so Worthy, (released online October 30, 2015) is a life testimony as to how she realized that God loves her so much that he forgives her sins and watches and guides her soul. She recently was approved for a television show, New Indie Gospel Show, which will begin airing on the Now Network April 8, 2017 on Saturday at 3:30PM weekly. Along with her daughter, Kyasia Chaney, TarsaVena wrote this book, Diary of a Hurt and Confused Wife.
My name is Kyasia Chaney. I was Miss GPA at George P. Austin Jr High School. When I attended Linden High School, I was Miss Freshman, Miss Junior and Miss LHS. I was also 9th grade representative and 11th grade representative in Student Council. I was one of the National American Miss Junior Teen State Finalist in 2013. I graduated high school as an honor student in 2016, and I got accepted to Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University with a scholarship. I tend to graduate in 2020. My second semester as a freshman I became the Secretary of the Inter Residential Hall Council. I will earn my license in Cosmetology at Wallace Community College during the summers before I graduate from Alabama A&M University. Whether you are a child or an adult, I feel like everyone's story should be heard. I never told my mom how the things that happened made me feel. I always kept it to myself but I do not think anyone should go through that alone. So that's why I decided to write my part in the book. ~Kyasia Chaney
