About the author
Nachman Berkowitz was a Cantor and Torah Reader for the Ashford Street Synagogue, a small orthodox congregation in Brooklyn, N.Y. from 1947 to 1948. He was an Assistant Cantor, Torah Reader, Bar and Bat Mitzvah teacher at B'nai Israel Synagogue, a large conservative congregation in Toledo, Ohio from 1948 until 1984. He was the Torah Reader at Anshei Israel Synagogue in Tucson, Arizona from 1984 until 1999. He has three children, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Rev. Berkowitz now resides in Tucson, Arizona.
