Prophecies Relating to the Time of the End

by Peter J Southgate

Overview
The return of Jesus to earth to establish the Kingdom of God and to reward the faithful is basic Bible teaching and the belief of all true Christians. The Bible gives many signs as to when this event might be expected and how believers can prepare for it. This book is a study of those passages in the Bible and the hope is that by re-examining them the reader will be refreshed in their waiting for the return of Jesus Christ.
Description
The return of Jesus to earth to establish the Kingdom of God and to reward the faithful is basic Bible teaching and the belief of all true Christians. The Bible gives many signs as to when this event might be expected and how believers can prepare for it. Some of these predictions are quite specific as to timing, others are more general indications, but combined they have given Bible students much encouragement and hope. With the passage of years many previously expected fulfilments of these predictions have proved premature or incorrect. This can lead to the feeling that even though the coming of Christ is assured, some specific signs of his return are beyond our understanding. It is hoped that the following pages will encourage a re-examination of the Bible teaching relating to the time of the end. It is not our intention to be dogmatic – for prophecy is not given that we might be prophets ourselves – rather to make suggestions as to how events might transpire, whilst always recognising the fallibility that is common to us all.
