Overview
When the tempestuous and passionate Mikayel, who works in a Syrian silk factory, falls in love with the beautiful and aristocratic Marria, the pair faces almost insurmountable hurdles posed by Middle Eastern culture. In The Dark Glow of Destiny, their tragic story plays out under the blazing sun in the small city of Aleppo during the late 1950’s. More than a love story, The Dark Glow of Destiny is also the story of Mikayel’s friendship with the somber Tahvit, who himself has been burned by love. The setting of this novella spans the globe from Beirut to Paris, to New York City.
