In The Dark Glow of Destiny, their tragic story plays out under the blazing sun in the small city of Aleppo during the late 1950’s. More than a love story, The Dark Glow of Destiny is also the story of Mikayel’s friendship with the somber Tahvit, who himself has been burned by love. The setting of this novella spans the globe from Beirut to Paris, to New York City.

Ambear was born in Aleppo, Syria. Her parents, Bedros and Maryam Maljian, survived the Armenian Genocide of 1915. She completed Philosophy classes in Beirut, Lebanon at the College of Des Pères Saint Sauveurs. She wrote her first novel Les Lueurs Sombres de la Destinée in French in 1958-59, after completing her Baccalaureate at the College of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary in Aleppo. She published the book in December 2011 with Edilivre Editions APARIS (Collection Tremplin, www.edilivre.com). Now she has translated the book into English as The Dark Glow of Destiny.
