There are several unsavory characters trying to stop Jack's investigation, the Thin Man, Shaggy, and Grease Boy all try to stand in Jack's way. A police detective, Danny Watts doesn't want Jack to solve a case that he couldn't solve. Jack's long time assistant, Trudy, finally gets to come out into the field on this case. She finds that private investigations can be a pretty dangerous business.
