Overview
"The Alphabetours" is an imaginative alphabet book created by a retired art teacher whose inspiration began with the worn, whimsical letters hanging in her classroom. Each letter, hand-drawn and colored in vibrant pencil, brings her years of artistic passion to life for readers who love humor and art.
Description
The Alphabetours is an alphabet adventure born from the whimsical imagination of a retired art teacher. For years, she was captivated by the faded, dog-eared letters above her classroom's chalkboard, each one holding a personality of its own. After a lifetime of moving from one military base to another as a Navy brat, these letters became symbols of her vivid creativity. Now, she's brought them to life in a way that celebrates her artistic journey, drawing and coloring each letter by hand. Every page captures her unique humor and artistic style, inviting readers of all ages to view the alphabet with fresh eyes. Whether you're an art lover, an educator, or just young at heart, The Alphabetours offers a playful, colorful experience that invites readers to laugh, imagine, and enjoy.
About the author
Mickey is a retired art teacher of 27 years and a practicing artist. She received her Bachelor's degree in art and her Master's Degree in Education. Mickey also restores murals in schools and churches. She has had several one-woman shows and has won many First Place Awards for her work in oils and watercolors. Mickey has recently changed her subject matter and art medium. A professional oil and watercolor artist, she decided to master something new and found that with her love of birds (she calls Mickey's Budgies), mixing her Budgies with pastels, gives her a soft, blended, and cozy effect perfect for the subject matter. As Mickey describes them, "My cute little birds with attitude".
