Description

Robbie, a 9-year-old with a vivid imagination, builds an "airplane time machine" from cardboard boxes in his playroom, despite teasing from his older brothers, Gabe and Andrew. They mock his creativity, but Robbie stays true to his imaginative spirit. His 6-year-old sister Faye, excited by the creation, eagerly joins him and their dog Pirate on an adventure. As Robbie pushes buttons and twists knobs, the airplane time machine suddenly comes to life, flying through space past planets like Mars and Saturn. They land on the moon, where they meet the friendly Man in the Moon, who tells them how much he enjoys when children on Earth look up and talk to him. Robbie and Faye promise to keep him company from Earth. After their adventure, they return home, thrilled and excited to share their journey with their mom. That night, they go outside with Pirate to say goodnight to their new friend, the Man in the Moon. It's a heartwarming tale of imagination, adventure, and sibling bonding.

About The Author

About the author: I was born and raised in Foley, Alabama, as the third of four children. Growing up, school was a challenge for me—I struggled with reading, studying, comprehension, and focus. My parents were baffled and unsure how to help. It wasn't until I was in the 6th grade that I was diagnosed with dyslexia. Since then, I have grown to love reading, and I now embrace the joys of storytelling. Through my books and my personal story, I hope to inspire children who face similar learning difficulties or other challenges. I also want to encourage all children to never be afraid to use their imagination and dream big. To learn more about Dyslexia check out this link: https://dyslexiaida.org/dyslexia-basics. I have been married to my loving husband, Rob, since 1979. We have 3 wonderful children, 2 sons, and 1 daughter, all grown and married, and 5 amazing grandchildren.
