About the author
Amelia Jenkins was raised in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina and was a public school teacher for many years in North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee and Texas. She has been living in Hawaii for the past 20 years and is currently a professor at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She and Piki Jenkins have been together for over 15 years.
