The Adventures of Maritime Domain Awareness Man is a comic book about a young superhero in west Africa who gains the power to know everything that is happening in the sea. The goal of this writing project is to spread awareness about the many challenges and opportunities facing the world's oceans. Written by Nick Tomb and illustrated by Leti Arts, the tale starts with MDAM's creation story and his friendship with Esi, a girl who has great passion to protect the oceans. Future issues will dig deeper into problems and solutions facing the world, its people, and the oceans. Inspired by the great work being done to protect the oceans and develop sustainable economic opportunities, The Adventures of MDAM will "edutain" younger generations to think about what is happening in our global waters and what they can do to save our seas.

Issue #1 of The Adventures of Maritime Domain Awareness Man is the creation story of our young hero.  It includes 20 exciting pages of action, a note from the author and an advert for Leti Arts--the Ghanaian graphic design company that illustrated the graphic novel. It is a quality book sized 8.5" x 11" with a thick glossy cover and bright, colorful pages.

Nick Tomb is an educator, nature lover and author. With cultural curiosity and an appetite for adventure, he has found his way in the world promoting peace and security, conflict resolution, military professionalism, gender equality, social justice, and environmental protection. A California native, he lives in Monterey, CA with his wife and daughter. Inspired by the dedication of people around the world who commit themselves to protect the oceans and make human activity on the seas more safe and secure, he published his first graphic novel, "The Adventures of Maritime Domain Awareness Man" in 2023.
