Taking place in a high school, The Adaptation of Mardean Rose is designed for young adults, but its themes can be enjoyed and related to by all ages who appreciate the influences of love. Love allows us to open up to others, while even discovering things we didn't know about ourselves. It allows us to be the real versions of who we are. As they are all parts of love, the topics of rationality, irrationality, and sex are also explored within this book.

Mardy Birch's dream of living a movie fantasy is falling apart. Forrest broke up with her last week, but she still hasn't shown any sign of recovery. Not to mention that she's got a cocky, insufferable nerd as a chemistry partner, making non-hostile communication difficult. Born and living in her hometown of Columbia City, Indiana, Shay Feist has always had a passion for reading and writing. Eager to hear and tell a good story, she doesn't limit herself to any one genre but does hold mysteries and romances closest to her heart. With donations from her family, friends, and soon-to-be husband, Feist was able to independently publish her first novel, The Adaptation of Mardean Rose. She hopes that this will be the first of many.
