Overview
Amie Fuller always felt different. Despised by her adopted parents and plagued with nightmares, the only escape Amie ever felt was when she went to the same church camp she went to as a child, to be a counselor. It was the only place she felt at peace. After graduating from college and dealing with her father’s death Amie becomes obsessed with another counselor, whom she sleeps with one night. Four years later and her obsession has overwhelmed her. She returns to the camp each summer desperate to see his face and desperate to confront the man that haunts her dreams. What she discovers is much more though as people around her start to disappear, and she is haunted by ghosts of the lands past. Only finding out the truth can ease her nerves but in doing so, she might just doom everyone. Some secrets can kill and what Amie has forgotten will undo life as she knows it.
Description
Between heaven and hell there is Earth and on Earth there is Amie; a girl so desperate for the truth that she will stop at nothing to find it. Plagued by nightmares and haunted by evil Amie knows she is different. Her adopted parents hate her and after her own father’s funeral she escapes to the only place she feels safe; Camp Enumclaw. Here she confides in another counselor and begins to obsess over him after they sleep together. Four years later, Amie is still addicted to that night and to the feeling she had. Unable to move on Amie finds herself at the camp every summer, quitting jobs and returning to work alongside those she feels comfortable with. But this summer is different. Supernatural forces are at work as Amie turns 25. Her dreams become reality, and she’s haunted by Native ghosts of the land along with a dark evil so overwhelming that Amie herself isn’t sure if she should keep digging. Desperate for relief Amie knows she has to find out the truth before it consumes her but in doing so just might be the undoing of the world she’s come to know. Put on Earth for a greater purpose Amie soon finds herself intertwined in a world with secrets, murder, and lies. How do you search for the truth, when you know that finding out the truth means destroying everything?
About the author
Marie Watts Barclay began writing as soon as she could pick up a pen. For as long as she can remember she has wanted to be a writer and has always wanted to follow in the footsteps of great suspense and horror writers, such as Stephen King and Dean Koontz. Although full of ideas this is Marie’s first novel. The idea came to her while attending church camp throughout her childhood and knew at the age of 15 how desperately she wanted to write it. She is married with three children and currently lives in Georgia but hails from California and Indiana. As a military brat she moved around a little bit as a child and has a hard time finding anywhere that she considers home. Although having children early, she’s never faltered in her quest to finish college and become a professional writer. Halfway finished with school, she has an Associate’s degree in General Education from Ivy Tech State College and has completed the requirements for a Bachelor in History from Ashford University. She is also currently taking classes for a double major in Library Science and Media, along with a minor in International Management. Writing is her passion, and she hopes to give people the same sense of awe and excitement in her stories, as she always got in others growing up.
