Overview
This book is written for people who want to enhance their understanding of how their relationship with God can help them, or to encourage someone in their life who they love dearly to move closer to their faith as they navigate through life's challenges without being overwhelmed or scared away with too much preaching. Each chapter offers advice for everyday topics that are relative in today's world. They are intentionally short, easy to understand and relate to, as well as straight to the point to keep the reader engaged. The author has integrated occasional and brief Bible passages skillfully into each chapter of the book, allowing readers to easily connect these verses to their own experiences and apply them effectively to the subjects discussed. This book offers relatable and spiritually based advice with minimal preaching in order to enlighten believers, those drifting from their faith, skeptics, atheists and anyone else who is looking for answers through their faith in God.
Description
This book offers easy to understand and relatable advice to help encourage you or someone in your life whom you love dearly, such as your son, daughter, or a close friend, to move closer to their faith in God without preaching to them or using scare tactics. By focusing on contemporary topics, keeping the chapters short, and adopting a relatable writing style, this book will resonate with believers, seekers, and skeptics alike. In addition, with two thought-provoking questions at the end of each chapter, the reader can pause and think about what they have read. This will give them a deeper understanding of how their faith in God can help them instead of dealing with everything through their own strength, while hopefully giving them eternal hope as well. The scope of topics discussed covers everything from People Who Abandon Their Children, Sports Parents, Addiction, Keeping Your Pants Up, to a realistic look at marriage and what to be aware of before running to the altar to 'seal the deal.' The author has crafted this book to link each topic discussed to a short biblical verse that relates directly to how it can help the reader deal with that issue without being 'preachy.' This book does not contain any pointless conversations about sexuality and only has one chapter that briefly mentions politics only as a point of reference. Please refer to the table of contents to review the covered topics. This is a clean, informative, and easy-to-read book that is an enjoyable reading and learning experience for everyone, from young adults to senior citizens.
About the author
Steve Lobrovich is an author who recently retired after a 42-year career as a sales professional and business owner in Silicon Valley. He was born and raised in Campbell, California. He and his wife Kathy have been married since 1978 and have remained in the Bay Area where they raised their family in Fremont, California, and still live there as of 2024. As someone passionate about helping others in his community, he has embraced various volunteer efforts, including visiting pediatric and adult hospice patients, fundraising to support our veterans, and coaching youth sports. Steve's recent journey in battling and beating cancer – for the third time! – inspired him to write a book for his grandson that teaches him how to blend faith into everyday life. His strategy was to engage him without resorting to preaching or scare tactics in order to keep him interested. He then realized that using the same method would be beneficial for anyone aged fifteen and older who seeks guidance through their faith in God. This led to the creation of the Teaching Faith Without PREACHING Faith book. This is a quick-read, contains two thought-provoking questions at the end of each chapter, is easy to understand, honest, not preachy, and beneficial for everyone. Steve is currently working on another book offering a concise and relatable approach for people battling addictive behaviors. He is excited to expand the original approach to help those dealing with specific challenges.
