Each reflection ends with thoughts relevant to modern daily life. The book has beautiful color illustrations throughout and is 132 pages.
The title comes from a pre-Communion hymn in the Armenian Divine Liturgy: "Draw near to the Lord and take the Light", an invitation to receive Holy Communion and take the Light of Christ within you. The cover illustration shows the light of the sun over Mt. Ararat, the eternal symbol of Armenia, with the light reflected in a body of water near the mountain. The author's hope is that the readers of these short, meaningful reflections will be inspired to share the light and love of Christ with others. This book should appeal to the Armenian Christian faithful and to any Christian who is interested in learning more about God's love in the world and the Armenian Christian faith.
