Surface Dirty

Surface Dirty is a blend of text-messaging and poetry that explores the journey of a woman who after surviving the trauma of infidelity and the death of a marriage discovers her true “Woman-ness.” Leaning on the insight of some loving, straightforward and sometimes "raw" men, she is able to effectively navigate through the dating scene while discovering herself. She learns that she is often the prettiest women in the room because she has the biggest heart.

After being unexpectedly thrown into the millennium dating realm after the dissolution of her 13 year marriage, one woman soon learns that it will take more than beauty, intelligence, and a strong financial head to navigate safely through relational waters. Using a blend of text-messaging and poetry, Surface Dirty explores one woman's effort to re-discover her "Woman-ness" before settling on a life mate. It is a reflection of the power of agape love: a love that is unconditional and undeserved that supports her push to go beyond the superficial to the core of those elements that will ultimately edify her soul. In the end, it is the insights of some loving and decent men, the very gender that inflicted her pain, that help orchestrate her greatest growth. The wisdom shared is useful for men and women.

Professor Wanda J. Evans is a Synergist.
