Overview
As a licensed mental health counselor spanning a twenty-one year career, Roland Levy has been successful in approximately 200 suicide interventions without loosing a single person to suicide. He has read books specifically relating to suicide and led groups of chronically mentally ill clients in his experience. He is uniquely qualified to author a book on suicide prevention. This book would be beneficial to professional therapists, psychiatrists or anyone who has contemplated suicide as a permanent solution to a temporary problem or situation that must be endured until a better solution or resolution of the problem presents itself.
Description
As its title indicates, Suicide Prevention: A Guide to Good Health and Happiness, suicide and happiness are mutually exclusive. Before happiness can be achieved, we must first eliminate all those things that make us unhappy. This includes all dependence on addictive substances and behaviors. Toxic relationships must also be eliminated as well as work that is not satisfying. or rewarding. These three areas, addictions, social relationships and work are where we spend a good part of our waking hours. It is only be assessing these areas that we can decide what makes us happy. This entails a thorough search within us in regards to how we can achieve happiness. For many of us it requires us to think back to our childhood in order for us to rediscover what makes us happy. Life is a journey. May your life be as rewarding to you as it has been for the author of this book.
