Description

A story about balloons. A story about a kookaburra. A story about fishing. And a story about a trumpet. At least that's how my nearly three-year old son knows them by. Behind the balloons, kookaburra, fishing, and trumpet, are messages of hope and inspiration, reflection and motivation. I sincerely hope you enjoy them!

Tales for our times Velotta put together 4 distinct stories, yet they all serve a greater purpose. Truly, these are tales for our times. This was an easy read, but thought provoking book that leaves you pondering each individual story. You'll want to read it again once you've finished. Can't wait for Volume II! Read more

A book If you buy one book from Angelo Velotta this year, make it Stories From The Bean Table: Volume 1! These four stories have so much depth and are such a breeze to get through that I made it from cover to cover in one sitting. It is one of the easiest reads I've ever had in my life considering I gave this a second read soon after and will most likely give it a third. I have also never given a review for a book before so that should tell you everything you need to know about this one. If there is a volume 2 I am confident it will be worth reading too. Read more

Be Ready! All four stories were pretty easy reads. What was great about each story was that there was a underlying message. The message from “The King’s Trumpet” was probably my favorite. It spoke about how we should always ‘be ready’ in life for whatever might come our way and to never stop listening for the trumpet. Read more

tom A well written, concise set of four fables. Each has a different, but simple, moral which provides the opportunity for the reader to open a discussion with the child at close of reading. This this will provide a chance to both check understanding and build relationships between the two. Read more

A book for self reflection This book, more specifically the first story Wishful Thinking and The Balloons That Went Up with It. Has stuck with me the most. It’s made me realize that you never know what someone else is going through in life, and that we all have our own unique struggles and experiences. We shouldn’t be so quick to judge other people. This is a great book for anyone and all the stories are worth a read. Read more
