Description
Space Tourists is a story book for children and adults based on the personal experience of the author. His previous book "I Love (My) Space" is a detailed memoir of his life's journey. From the age of five in India to an adult man retired in the USA, "Space Tourists" tells stories of Prem Talreja's lifelong love of space exploration. Enjoy six stories capturing introduction to the moon, outer space, mission to the moon, and solar eclipse. This book is to encourage the next generation of young adults, much like his four grand children, who will become the professionals in the years to come. The book begins by describing how a 5-year-old, Raj, fell in love with space through the lullabies and stories his mother told him. The second story is where boy named Jay, learns about the space race between the USA and Russia, which began with the space mission of a adorable dog named Laika . The next story is of a boy named Araya, who learns about the US plan to put a man on the moon. As he grew from 6 to 16, he witnesses the first moon landing that changed him. The next story is of a young girl, Myla, who was able to witness a total solar eclipse standing at the path of totality. The next story is of Prem, a grandfather, about what a mission to the moon, as a space tourist, would feel like. The book ends with an encouraging message to the next generation of young adults to advance space technology while also taking care of our planet. Prem Talreja and his wife are grandparent to four grandkids, they spend time with the kids and tell them stories.
About the author
Prem Talreja lives in California with his wife, two daughters, and four grandkids. He was motivated to immigrate from India in the 70s as a result of the "Man on the Moon" Apollo missions and worked in the tech industry for 40 years. He has always been interested in space exploration, as reflected in his first book "I Love (My) Space." Prem has spend 40 years in the tech industry. He believes space exploration advanced technology and technology in return has accelerated space exploration. We are not far from return to the moon and first humans on Mars. Combined the technology has given back so much to humanity. Over the years Prem has found the parallel between space, technology and philosophy. The discovery of outer space is analogous to the engineering of our own mind and body. Even science is trying to find the connection. He is an tech investor and philosophy seeker. Prem has BSEE, MSEE, and an MBA and loves to play golf.
