About The Author

Nhou Her was born in a Thailand refugee camp in the aftermath of the Vietnam War that ravaged all of Southeast Asia. As a Hmong child with a large family, she ended up in the Sacramento area in the early 90s. Living among other urban refugee families, Nhou discovered a passion for simple gardening and cooking. After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of CA, Davis, Nhou attended both Weimar College and T. Colin Campbell's Center for Nutrition Studies. She has spoken on healthy food choices in many Southeast Asian venues. Nhou has been married to her husband, Cheng, for two decades.
