Overview
"Some Good Stories: God's Faithfulness to Our Family" is a 17-year chronicle of one woman's trust in the Lord through life events great and small, and of God making her family's paths straight. Cindy Good has carefully constructed a delightfully detailed narrative from almost two decades' worth of faithful journaling. Her memoir draws on an array of highlights recorded with precision: prayers for her husband and children through myriad seasons, God's answers to those prayers, and surprising adventures living in New Zealand, Scotland, and the United States.
Description
Good's account leads readers on a journey through unexpected laughter, friendships, challenges, disappointments, and growth. Her story is eminently human, recording the frailties and uncertainties that punctuate Good's victories as a wife, mother, school teacher, piano instructor, pregnancy resource center servant, and other roles God prepared in advance for her. "Some Good Stories" affirms God's faithfulness in one family's life from the monumental to the mundane, from a couple's job relocations to their children's schooling to pets that didn't work out (and ones that did). Solomon instructed his son centuries ago—and us today—"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5–6). Readers of this memoir will be encouraged to trust God wholeheartedly and depend on Him to make their paths straight for a lifetime.
About the author
Cindy Good lives in Centerville, Ohio, with her husband, Jim. They celebrated 45 years of marriage on December 18, 2021. She and Jim visit Grand Rapids regularly to hang out with Nick, Krista, and their three bairns: Harry, Ty, and Sloane. She still prefers driving to flying, even when they go cross country to visit Natalie in New Mexico.
