EARLY REVIEWS:

Gina is a master marketer and trainer. Just read through this book and use each chapter as a checklist. You will be rocking your social marketing in no time. And she is completely correct -- social media doesn't work - unless YOU do. There are no (successful) shortcuts in marketing on any social media platform. This is a super helpful book for anyone who works at any level, in any marketing department, anywhere.  -- Phyllis Khare -- Author, of Facebook Marketing All-in-One for Dummies, and Co-Founder of Social Media Manager School.

____________

Gina’s book, SOCIAL MEDIA DOESN’T WORK finally defines the problem of businesses who want to use social media to ultimately get value from it, but don’t know how. As a marketing consultant for dozens of high-growth technology firms across the globe, I’ve seen firsthand how businesses struggle and fail when attempting to leverage social media to connect with prospects and sell their products or services. As a business owner and author, Gina constantly preaches about how social media isn’t magic or a simple pill that gets instant results. Instead, she offers real-life solutions and pragmatic wisdom of how businesses of any size can finally get the outcome they want by connecting online in a meaningful way while moving prospects from “likes” to “leads.” This book is a must-read and I’d highly recommend it. – Dave Scott, President Scott Digital Marketing.

___________

This book is refreshingly honest and accurate -- a necessity for anyone beginning to manage social media for brands from small local businesses to corporate America. Social media is so often either underutilized or overemphasized in today’s marketing plans. Gina Shreck sets expectations straight in this breezy read. Effective social media requires the right combination of copy, video, images, conversation, fun, a voguish spin and a pinch of sales. It’s not a guaranteed sales vehicle, but tell that to the stack of infomercialesque hair styling tools I’ve amassed from Facebook purchases. A mistake many businesses make is to hire someone with no marketing experience to manage brand social media channels. A candidate who has a dog with an Insta, does not a marketer make. If you do hire someone green to manage your social platforms, hand over this resource on day one.”

-- Danielle Yuthas, Marketing Director and Certified Franchise Executive.

This book is more than a guide to social media, it explains many marketing fundamentals and answers common questions from branding to lead generation and explains how social media plays a part in each. Gina details everything from setting up accounts on various platforms to tips for getting the most out of each platform, like using emojis and implementing management tools. The 'Put it Into Practice Today' section at the end of each chapter provides easy-to-follow, actionable steps for getting started. Consider this book a how-to guide for any business ramping up their marketing efforts. Gina's informal tone makes you feel like you're talking to her in person over coffee, making it an easy read.   Melissa Lautzenhiser, Principal at Marketing Matters

I often say, "Successful marketing means creating a life or brand story worth telling and then finding the best way to tell that story to the greatest number of people in the shortest amount of time."  That's what makes Gina's book so very special. It's not a get rich quick, cure-all for social marketing. It's a practical guide to using social media to, well…be more social. Read her words and apply her wisdom, or as she says, "Do the work." You'll not only grow your following and build your brand, but you'll make new lifelong friends and have a great time while doing it!   — Charity Gibson, Owner | Green Banana Social
