About The Author


Rocky Rivera is an emcee and journalist from San Francisco. Her writing has been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, The Source and Rolling Stone Magazine. Her first book, Snakeskin, is a collection of memoir essays and lyrics to her previous albums and was co-edited by Dr. Valerie Francisco-Menchavez. Her latest album, Long Kiss Goodnight, is a collaboration with emcee/producer Otayo Dubb and was released last September off their label, Beatrock Music. Rocky’s music is a journey into the spirit of resistance, blending social justice, feminism and West Coast-style hip hop.
