Description
My story is not a political statement, nor a stand on the issue of abortion. No, it is simply the story of a young woman's experience of finding her way through life and dealing with the consequences of earlier decisions as she learns to reframe her past to enable a better future.
At some point in life, I believe we all experience moments where we shed silent tears. They flow inside where no one can see them. They may be tears of loss and regret; or of compassion and empathy. They are the tears that communicate all that we cannot say with words. Instead, the tears flow quietly, silently inside, where no one can see them. Only we know they are there. But they leave an impression in us that we keep hidden away until something, or someone, triggers it. And we end up back at that moment, reliving the pain all over again. We need healing.
This story is my journey of dealing with the taboo subject of abortion that happened in my life and how I found my way back to wholeness.
Here are a few comments from readers who shared their story with me after reading the book:
"I just finished reading your book. I have no words. I am feeling so much. This book does not only deal with those who have had abortions, it also deals with those of us who carry secrets..."
"I loved your book. Beautifully written and an amazing story. I haven't read a book for years and am so glad that I actually took the time to read yours. I am still processing so want to think about all you shared. It's an easy read. As a reader, I was interested in learning how your story would end.."
"I can't thank you enough for telling me to read your book. Your story was my story. I feel like I had the same feelings, emotions and situation..."
"I loved reading your story and journey you took to heal. AWESOME read!! I love to read thought provoking books. I think you should write more..."
"This work of art has become a healing/wholeness tool that God is using to do even more in me. At first I was shocked by how much I related to every aspect of your experiences and then I realized that abortion is a universal experience. Disassociation, embarrassment, fear, shame, loneliness, and despair, powerful seeds planted by an impulsive decision that feels like the only option. WOW!"
