About The Author


Jim Overmier is a native of Annapolis, Maryland. A former junior college quarterback, Jim began coaching high school football in 1996, after resigning his commission as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. In the summer of 2003, he launched Jim Overmier’s Quarterback Academy, a private, quarterback training program for student-athletes who aspired to play the position at the high school level and beyond. He continued to coach high school football, at both public and private schools, until 2013, with the exception of one year: in 2007, Jim ventured into coaching collegiate football when he accepted the position of quarterbacks coach at Gallaudet University. It would become the most unique experience of his coaching career.
