Shiny Ribbon & Me

Allyssa Shawboose is a proud member of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe. She's had a passion for art and storytelling since she was able to hold a crayon. She turned that passion into a Bachelor's degree in Animation from Central Michigan University and now shares her knowledge with college students as a professor. She likes to create stories that showcase her culture in unique ways and helps to keep her language alive. Allyssa has two cats named Gwen and Solaris who helped to inspire this story about listening to our elder's teachings and practicing our traditions even if we are beginners.
