About The Author


Dale F. Williams, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, BCS-F is a Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Florida Atlantic University, where he also serves as Director of the Fluency Clinic. In addition, he is a consultant for Language Learning Intervention and Professional Speech Services. He completed his bachelor's degree at Alma College, his master's at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, and his doctorate at Southern Illinois University. A Board Certified Specialist in Fluency since 1999, Dr. Williams served as Chair of the Specialty Board on Fluency Disorders for three years. His publications are primarily in the area of fluency disorders and include the books Stuttering Recovery: Personal and Empirical Perspectives and Communication Sciences and Disorders: An Introduction to the Professions (Psychology Press). A person who stutters, Dr. Williams coordinated the stuttering support group that has met on the FAU campus since 1996. He lives in Boynton Beach with his wife Misty, sons Brennan and Blaine, daughters Cayley and Caysey, and a wide variety of pets.
