About the author

The author turned from non-fiction to fiction with his book “A Brass Monkey”, the story of one family’s unusual troubles during the Hong Kong turnover, ten years prior to Shi-lan’s story. All of his stories reflect knowledge of places and cultures gained from many years service in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Libya and Europe. He has retired from this travel-on-demand career and resides in the calm pine forests of central Oregon.
