Following the Foreword by surfing legend Gerry Lopez, the introduction traces the arc of surfing history. Then, with 120 color images, we journey with these surfer-founders from their first wave to the creation of organizations worldwide that change lives and protect our blue planet.
Meet 28 ordinary people whose stoke, the joy of surfing, spurred them to create organizations that do good. Their stoke is contagious, drawing together thousands who work for open-ocean access, heal the mind and body, protect our oceans, and preserve surfing's historic legacy.
