Selling Joy

David Adelberg founder and current CEO of the IDS Group, was born in Belleville Ontario on July 13, 1946, to his father Bernie, a pioneering retailer and manufacturer and mother Marjorie, an accomplished musician and playwright. Much of his early life was spent in conflict over his calling to be a Rabbi and his love for the performing arts. His father opposed both endeavors and encouraged him to abandon his dreams for a career in Sales. With no advanced education and few resources, armed with only his quick wit and an unquenchable thirst to succeed, David became one of the most dynamic and successful salesmen in the country. From shoes to shopping centers, Dave has been selling private and institutional clients for decades. His reputation as a man to be trusted has earned him the respect of his peers and the admiration of all who know him.
