When thirteen-year-old Cathal Kavanagh moves to live with his Grandfather in the remote countryside of south-western Ireland, he soon finds himself in a world of danger, mystery and secrecy, with strange threats, strange characters and even stranger nocturnal happenings. As if this isn’t enough, he must try to blend in to a hostile new school environment and come to terms with his own personal grief following a recent devastating family tragedy! Soon he learns that the small and seemingly quiet community of Ballycastle has a lot going on under the surface. Cathal is determined to solve the mysterious questions posed by his new locality but he might have to go to extraordinary lengths to find all the answers…

Brendan Griffin (b. 1982) grew up in the countryside at the foot of the Slieve Mish Mountains on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. Secrets of a Moonlit River is his debut novel. A Graduate of History, Sociology & Politics at NUI Galway, since 2011, Brendan is a member of Dáil Éireann (Irish Parliament) representing the people of Kerry. He is a former member of Kerry County Council and a former Parliamentary Assistant. Outside of politics, he has also spent some time as a publican, a teacher and in the hotel industry. He still lives in his native Keel with his wife Róisín and their son Micheál.
