Description
Twenty-year old Jess Tennant is scotophobic – afraid of the dark. How does she find herself in a cave, a twisted maze of darkness, fighting for survival? Jess meets charming Nick Rosanov at a party; she believes he could be her soul mate. When Nick invites her on a caving weekend, she accepts, daring fate for a chance at romance. She hopes the caving lights will be powerful enough that she can control her phobia. Nick’s friend Brent, an avid caver, will be joining them on the weekend, so Jess asks her flatmate Gabby along to even the numbers, and for moral support while caving. What Jess doesn’t know is the caves she will visit hold dark secrets. On the weekend Jess enters the caves, these secrets are exposed and a myriad of past wrongs will seek reconciliation. Jess will battle her scotophobia; she will also fight for her life, as she and her friends entangle in a web of evil and sinister mystery in which the caves, and now Jess, are perilously intertwined. In these caves, darkness is not all there is to fear.
About the author
Alan lives in the Hunter Valley, NSW, Australia. He grew up in Katoomba, NSW and spent much of his childhood, bushwalking, rock climbing, reading books, watching television, or writing stories. As a member of the audience, he has always enjoyed science fiction, a good mystery, suspense or thriller. Looking in from the outside was never enough though; he craved creating these stories. As a young man, he was dissuaded from pursuing his life as a writer. "How would you live?" the career adviser asked in an interview. So, more by fate than by design, he fell into a career in Information Technology and there he has wandered for over thirty years. In 2012, Alan graduated with a Master of Arts (Writing), over the years has written many short stories, and has completed six novels. He is working on another two novels. The skills he learned as a computer programmer and systems analyst now meld with knowledge of writing and his imagination to create engaging stories. Apart from writing and spending time with his family, Alan enjoys sailing, aviation, riding his motorcycle and any (well almost any) new and exciting experiences.
